Giancarlo Paterlini,

For me photography is an artistic path through which one matures, one grows, one reflects, but above all in which one's own moods and personality emerge. Landscape photography means going beyond the simple representation of a place, my images are often the result of much more profound research, aimed at capturing the more intimate and hidden side of the place itself. Care for the composition, light and emotions are indisputable aspects for me and that represent the real guidelines on which to continue this long and fascinating journey.

When I shoot for me there are mainly two types of emotions: the emotions I experience to observe the environment that surrounds me, and the emotions I experience in looking into the camera lens. Some might think that there is not a real difference between the two things, I personally believe that they are two very similar worlds but they contain very different visions. Photographing means first of all capturing the essential and knowing how to frame it in the best way ... the emotions I feel when looking through the lens consist precisely in this.

Photography is for me as a personal expression of the feeling and vision evoked by the places I visit, including both iconic locations and lesser-known landscapes. In my images, I strive to imbue the landscapes with an impressionistic sensibility…with the movement of water, fog, a mystical light, a dream-like setting.
